Armed clashes between Kurds & Armenians in Lebanon

Last Sunday (October 23), Armenians and Kurds clashed in the streets of Bourj Hammoud after a Kurd stabbed an Armenian guy. The reason was said to be a driving problem. After a while, the Lebanese army arrived and stopped the clashes.

According to our sources, 3 Armenians were injured and several Kurds were arrested.

The issue behind such clashes is that unlike the old days, houses in Bourj Hammoud are being rented for Kurds working in Lebanon for cheap prices. The number of Kurds in the region has been increased in the past few years. In the past few days, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation and Bourj Hammoud municipality have been working to empty the region from Kurds and forbid house owners to rent their houses to non-Armenians.
